FAQ - What happens if there is incidental ingestion of river water?

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has stated, "The data show levels of contamination are below what would be a concern for human health during typical recreational exposure." If you swallow a bit of river water, you are in no more danger today than you would have been prior to the spill. But remember it is never advisable to consume untreated water.
